In each class you and a small group of learners will meet with one of our expert TOEFL iBT tutors who will guide them as they learn. Each class will be organized the same:

Overview

Know the test inside and out, no surprises. If you know exactly what to expect on test day, you will achieve your highest possible score with confidence.

Strategies

Master the best strategies for each question type and task. Our strategies have proven results and you will learn them all.

Practice

Yes, practice, practice, practice. This way you will internalize the strategies, be confident on test day and achieve your highest possible score. Our materials will offer you a realistic test-taking experience that will give you the edge you need on test day. Our materials are challenging, so get ready for a work out! You will also receive feedback on your speaking and writing responses.

This course offers all the benefits of our Deluxe membership (Online Overview), but with the added benefit of actually meeting with your tutor; not just you and your computer. Have a question? Just ask a real person!

Frequently Asked Questions

How much does it cost?

$280 is the price of this course. There will be no monthly charges, just one payment and you get access to our Deluxe Membership for six months!

What is the schedule?

Schedules will be determined by demand. Contact us for start dates. Classes will take place 10:00 am to 12:30 pm or 6:00 pm to 8:30 pm. All times are New York time.

What do I need?

You will need an internet connected device (we recommend using a laptop or desktop computer), a reliable internet connection and headphones/headset. You will also need a way to record your speaking responses. You can use a audio recorder on your computer, mobile device or online. Here is an example.

Is 20 hours of instruction enough?

Yes and no. If you are studying on your own and using our materials and strategies, then the answer is yes. If you are not studying and not using our strategies, then the answer is no. So, make sure to study with our materials and practice the strategies!

Additionally, all classes will be recorded so that you can watch them again at your convenience.

How much interaction will I have with the teacher?

A lot! Your teacher and you will be in constant contact. You will have the opportunity to ask any and all questions that you may have.

Who are the teachers?

Amy Bramhall, who is originally from Berkeley, California, has been teaching English since 2000 and has taught TOEFL since 2006. Zach Kelly, originally from Washington, has been teaching English since 1999 and has taught TOEFL since 2007. Christopher Esquiaqui, originally from Los Angeles, California, has been teaching English since 1994 and has taught TOEFL since 1997.

How many students are there per group?

Typically, there will be anywhere from five to ten students. Sometimes, there will be more due to scheduling issues. However, we want to limit the class size in order to ensure that everyone has a chance to ask their questions during class.

How does feedback work?

We will provide the speaking tasks during the class and you will record your answers on your device (computer or phone). Then, you send your responses to us and we give you feedback.  Click here for some examples of the feedback we give.

Is the schedule flexible?

Not really. If you cannot come to a class, let us know in advance so that we can try to schedule you for another time when the material that you missed will be covered again. However, it might take some time for that to happen. So, please try your best to stick to the schedule.

Studying online is new for me; what if I don’t like studying online? Can I get my money back?

If you realize that you are not happy studying online, then let us know in advance and we will give you your money back for any un-used portion of your tuition. So, for example, if after two classes, you are not satisfied, you should let us know in advance and you will get your money back for the six classes that you did not take. Or, you could join us for in-person classes at our center in New York City.

How is this online class different from the Standard and Deluxe memberships?

The Standard and Deluxe memberships are self-study programs. However, this online class is guided, which means that you will be with a teacher at all times to help you as you study. If you take this online class, you will also be able to join the weekly TOEFL workshops.  Watch an example of an Online TOEFL workshop here
